Day 14: Quite worn out.

Cycle Against the Beast – 2022

11th March, 2022

Griffith

372.06 km

Today, I decided I wasn’t going to get on the bike. The last several day’s frustrations had finally got to me. I also had an internal debate as to whether I could even carry on after the end of the week. I began to wonder whether long distance cycling was for me after all, despite having previously enjoyed it. I put it down to having aged a couple of years since I really rode my bike, lockdown having killed most of my motivation, the pace of the week and so on. So, I was happy enough to remain in the bus all day. One thing I did decide, when we do Pedal Cure in another two years time, was that I’d volunteer to be a driver. Even though I may not be cycling, I still want to help out in any way I can for a cause I’m passionate about.

The evening’s stay is at Griffith. Again, Scott Reardon entertained us with a reprise of the talk he gave us in Temora. Somehow, that seemed so long ago now. Again, we stayed at the locall footy ground. The weather was great, so I decided to finally pitch my tent. Tomorrow is the last day of Pedal Cure 4 MND 2022. I’ve decided that I’ll get on my bike for the last 13 or so kilometres, where we’ll all ride into Ariah Park together.
