Spokes 4 Melanoma

Spokes 4 Melanoma is a bicycle ride of around 900 km from Manchester to Paris, via the D-Day beaches of Normandy. I will be cycling in support of the Melanoma Institute of Australia, a global leader in melanoma research.

Melanoma is the deadliest of all skin cancers and Australia has the highest rates of it in the world – particularly for people between the ages of 20 and 39. An Australian is diagnosed with it every 30 minutes. 1300 alone will die from melanoma this year.

I’ll be departing Manchester at 09:00, on Tuesday the 4th of June, outside Manchester Central Library at St. Peter’s Square. From there, it’s to Nottingham, Oxford, Aldbourne (Devil’s End), and Poole. I’ll then cross the English Channel, by ferry, to Cherbourg. After spending much of the day at the D-Day beaches of Normandy, I’ll be cycling on to Paris.

I intend to film along the way, putting together a YouTube series sometime after I return to Australia. As usual, I’ll also be uploading my daily Strava stats.

I have set up a fundraising page at https://challenge.melanoma.org.au/page/spokes4melanoma where you will be able to donate. Alternatively, just scan the QR code below. No amount is too much or too little. Any amount will be greatfully appreciated. Also, if you’re an Aussie taxpayer, donations of AUD 2, and over, are tax deductible.

Following along via Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and Instagram, liking, subscribing, and sharing posts is all that I ask for. However, if you wish to financially support me directly, then you can always PayPal me.
